- Once the jar has sat for 10 minutes, turn it upside down and place it top down on the dry ice in the center of the pie tin. Remember, the dry is should hopefully be level.
Note: I'll keep referring to the "top" and "bottom" of the jar, even though it's upside down. The "top" is the side that's on the dry ice now, with the lid. The "bottom" is the glass side, which is pointing upward. - Position the flashlight on the books so that the beam aims through the "lower" half (near the felt bottom) of the jar. You may not need all three books to do this. Use the masking tape to secure the flashlight in place at the right angle.
- Turn off the lights.
- Cover the "bottom" (i.e. glass end) of the jar with the palm of your hand.
- Watch and wait.
