PBS Explores Fabric of the Cosmos in November

By October 30, 2011

Follow me on:

Brian Greene - author and physicistThis November, the PBS science series NOVA will tackle some of the most fundamental concepts of the universe. Together with theoretical physicist Brian Greene, the series will present a 4-part documentary exploring the key physics concepts of space and time, when it translates Greene's 2005 book The Fabric of the Cosmos: Space, Time, and the Texture of Reality for the small screen.

In 2003, Greene collaborated with NOVA to turn his bestseller The Elegant Universe into a documentary about string theory, which earned the 2003 Peabody Award.

The new series will broadcast on PBS channels across the country, first airing on Wednesday evenings:

  • What is Space? - 11/2 airdate
  • The Illusion of Time - 11/9 airdate
  • Quantum Leap - 11/16 airdate
  • Universe or Multiverse? - 11/23 airdate

You can hear Greene himself talk about the series on NPR's Science Friday podcast from the first hour of the show on October 28. (Here's a direct link to the MP3.)

Would you consider making your postings more globally comprehensible, please? “11/2″ as a date; “PBS” not explained but I guess it’s a US television network. I understand the physics but not the Americanisms! :-)
