It happened, friends. Last week, when they announced the 61st Emmy Awards nominations
, Jim Parsons was nominated for the role of Sheldon Cooper on CBS's The Big Bang Theory
, a sitcom about two physics geek roommates and their "normal" (and attractive) female neighbor. Picture a romantic comedy mixed with the Feynman Lectures on Physics
, with dialogue that could have been written by Kevin Smith (if he were heavily censored). I like several of the other nominations (especially Tony Shaloub for his role in Monk
), but I do hope that Parsons gets the award. It's a very hard role to pull off, and he does it exceptionally well.
