Primordial Black Holes

Thursday September 20, 2007
There are many theories about what exactly was going on in the first few moments of the universe's creation, immediately following the Big Bang. One of these theories is that the extreme energies and densities of space-time in these moments allowed for the creation of massive quantities of black holes, frequently called primordial black holes or PBHs.

For those who are interested in the search for PBHs, I recommend the recent New Scientist article Did the big bang spawn trillions of black holes?, which covers the theories and research on this topic rather thoroughly.
