Printable Circuit Board

Wednesday April 18, 2007
In a fascinating article, New Scientist explains about a new process that uses a normal Hewlett-Packard ink printer to create a circuit board. The process involves replacing the ink with a silver salt solution, then printing over it with ascorbic acid (vitamin C) as a reducing agent to cause the solution to solidify into silver. Such a process could be used to revolutionize the development of microcircuitry. Read more in the New Scientist article, "Modified ink printer churns out electronic circuits."
