For those who haven't seen it yet, Scientific American has begun a new puzzle called Sci-Doku. This uses a 9-letter scientific word in place of the numbers normally used in Sudoku.

But wait, there's a twist! They don't give you the word, only a clue to the word. Using the starting letters from the grid, you have to figure out what the word is, and then complete the puzzle grid.
