Elections & Scientific Research

American politics has been polarized with regards to scientific research in certain areas, and Nature magazine has done a nice job of profiling the effects of this year's mid-term elections on the major congressional science committees. While many of the most politically charged scientific issues are in the realm of bioethics, there are some physics-related issues that might be affected, such as space exploration, fuel efficiency and alternative fuels, as well as the general effect on scientific funding and freedom in general.
