American Physical Society

For over a century, the American Physical Society (APS) has been devoted to their goal - "to advance and diffuse the knowledge of physics."

If interested in pursuing a career in physics, being a member of the APS is a good first step. They offer college student membership discounts (including a one-year free trial). Through the APS you can search for jobs and fellowships, as well as the other benefits that come from networking among fellow scientists at their meetings. Such membership also looks good on job or graduate school applications, as it displays a level of dedication and interest above and beyond your undergraduate coursework.
